Here is a list of the golf courses closest to Sauve, most of them around Nimes and Montpellier. If you want to go further away, you can find golf courses on the web-d get out anyway as long as you are prepared to play with someone else. In the summer - drink a lot of water - it is hot out thsite of the French Golf Federation www.ffgolf.org. Click on "Ou jouer" and then choose a city or a region. The golf courses in this region are not very crowded, but you still normally need to book in advance. If you are on your own, you can chance it anere!
 

GOLF DE NIMES VACQUEROLLES

This 18 hole golf course is the one closest to Sauve. You'll find it on your way into Nimes, signposted in the last roundabout just before Nimes. A very nice course situated in a valley using the hillsides to make some elevated holes. Well worth a visit.

The best golf course in the area with a stunning club house. A bit more expensive than Nimes Vacquerolles but it's worth the money. On the motorway towards Nice, take the exit to Nîmes-Garons airport. You now have to go round the airport - go to the left in the second round-about, then the first to the left and you'll find the golf course on the first to the right.

Only nine holes but in good condition and a bit calmer than the other golf courses in the area. Normally they will let you play two rounds for one green-fee so you can still do 18 holes. There is also a four hole compact course (included in the green-fee)  if you want to practice your short game. The colf course is just outside Uzes on the road to Pont du Gard and Avignon - look out for the sign on your right just after the road to Nimes.
 

GOLF DE LA GRANDE MOTTE

On a very flat area they have still managed to make this golf course an interesting one, partly thanks to a lot of water hazards. Apart from the big 18 hole golf course there is also a shorter 18 hole course and a compact 9 holes for the beginners. When you take the exit to Grande Motte keep to the left (if you keep to the right you will find yourself in Grande Motte village) and then take the second to the left to end up at the golf course.
 

GOLF CLUB MONTPELLIER MASSANE

Pretty similar in design to Grande Motte but slightly more up-market. Some years ago the qualification for the European Tour was played at Grande Motte and Massane. If you drive on the motorway at Lunel towards Montpellier take the next exit (Vendargues). The golf course will be sign-posted in the first round-about where you will have to go all round it and back over the motorway - then continue straight through the next round-about and you will find Massane on your right.

This golf course looks flat when you start but really is very hilly and interesting. A bit difficult to find so bring a good map - see directions on their web-site.

A very hilly golf course with narrow fairways so take it easy with the driver.

As far away from a championship golf course you can get. This compact 6 hole par 19 golf course is still good if you want to practice a bit (they do have a driving range, but you can really only use your irons) or bring your kid out to test a bit of golf. Very calm and cheap, only 15-20 km away, and you don't need to book in advance. To find it, go left towards Sauve on the D999, then take the first to your right. Go through the villages of Canaules and Lezan. After passing the bridge over the river Gardon, take the first to the right (Ribaute-Les-Tavernes) and you'll find the golf course on your right.
